Culture Seminar

26 November 2004 (morning session)

As part of the Charter Review process, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has carried out projects that examine specific aspects of the BBC, including a number of crosscutting studies of the BBC's impact in various areas. One of these studies was on the BBC's impact on culture.

As part of this exercise, the BBC was asked to provide a report on its contribution to culture. This document includes the BBC's strategic objectives and vision for both of this sector, as well as a detailed analysis of its current output, audience and outreach programmes.

This document was used as a paper debated in this seminar, held by Lord Burns, the Secretary of State's independent advisor on Charter Review.
