Pre Green Paper Research
2 March 2005
We commissioned a small qualitative research project to test the options contained in the Green Paper.
The research was commissioned from Cragg Ross Dawson, a research agency specialising in qualitative research. It was conducted between 20 - 24 January 2005 and consisted of focus groups with members of the public. The focus groups bought people of similar ages and backgrounds together for a couple of hours and encouraged in depth consideration of the main questions set out in the Green Paper. It involved open forum discussion of personal and group views, with the use of word boards to help stimulate the debate around these questions. This qualitative approach was of value as the results provided us with indications of opinions and attitudes held by a wide variety of the UK's general public aged from 12 - 75 years.
