Transcripts of Public Meetings
During March 2004, Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell and Broadcasting Minister Andrew McIntosh held six public meetings across the UK. These took place in Belfast (Thursday 4 March), Leicester (Tuesday 9 March), Edinburgh (Thursday 11 March), Cardiff (Monday 15 March), York (Tuesday 23 March) and Bournemouth (Monday 29 March).
Members of the public were invited to give their views on key aspects of the BBC, including how it should be funded, how it should be regulated and its role in society. Transcripts of all the meetings are available below
